FAQ for Candidates

FAQs Regarding the Evaluation Process

How long will the testing take?

Every test is different, depending on your agency’s process. You need to plan for at least 2-3 hours for your testing session. If you follow the instructions in your confirmation email and complete the pre-test materials assigned to you, the testing session will take considerably less time.

Can I do everything on my phone?

No, our testing materials are not compatible with mobile phone applications. Since the remote testing session is conducted via Zoom with our ProctorPRO, you must complete the tests ONLY on a computer with a webcam. If you do not have a webcam on your computer, you can use your phone or tablet as the video source, but you must still have a computer available to complete the actual testing.

How long before I know from the agency regarding the answer?

Once the report is sent to your agency, it is up to them how to proceed. Your agency might reach out to you right away, or they may use the evaluation report in other parts of your process. Once the report is sent to the agency, all future communication will come directly from them so please DO NOT contact our agency to inquire further about your status, as we have no control over your process with the agency and will not be able to take/respond to questions from you.

Where will my interview be?

The interview will be conducted via Zoom videoconferencing. You may use a computer or phone with video conference capability for the interview portion of the process only. You must have the Zoom app downloaded BEFORE your interview; the web browser version of Zoom will NOT work. You will be prompted to connect to the Zoom through the same proprietary software that you used to complete testing.

Can I know my results?

The report is the sole property of the agency that commissioned it. By agreeing to participate, you have waived your rights to access any/all information that comes from this process.  For test security and privacy purposes, you will not receive copies of, or information regarding the evaluation. Additionally, your report cannot be sent to any other agency. It is at the sole discretion of the commissioning agency what information they choose to share from the evaluation and with whom they choose to share it.

I’ve tested with you before. Can I use that report for my new agency?

Because each agency has their own hiring requirements and policies, the results and reports are specific to and the property of the individual agency. Results may differ depending on the agency; therefore, we cannot use previous reports for a new agency.  Please consult with our ProctorPRO© via phone by selecting extension 5 or email  scheduling@psychologicaldimensions.com regarding details about testing for multiple agencies at the same time.

How do I schedule my evaluation?

To avoid any errors in scheduling, your agency should have supplied you with a self-scheduling link when referring you to us for an appointment. All agencies are supplied with links for the evaluation types they require, which will let you view available testing sessions you are eligible to schedule for.  If you did not receive this from your agency, please contact your agency representative directly and do not contact our office, as your scheduling MUST originate from the agency via this link.

How do I cancel/reschedule my appointment?

To modify an upcoming appointment, scroll to the bottom of your confirmation email and click on the blue button labeled “Cancel/Change Appointment.” Note: Appointments can only be modified up to 24 hours before their scheduled start time. Changes after that time will be considered only in case of emergency and must be approved by your agency. To modify an appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, please have your contact at the agency reach out to scheduling@psychologicaldimensions.com.

I have not yet received the ZOOM link (for the testing session/interview). What should I do?

First, check your spam/junk folder. These reminder emails will be delivered approximately 45-60 minutes prior to your appointment but can sometimes arrive closer to half an hour before your appointment. For your interview, you will not receive a separate ZOOM link. Instead, your reminder email will contain instructions to connect to this ZOOM through the same proprietary software where you completed your testing materials, and it will include a link to access that.

My interview is now, but my doctor has not yet started the session. What do I do?

Be patient. Our psychologists can sometimes run a few minutes behind because they often see numerous candidates in succession. Please email info@psychologicaldimensions.com or call our office and select extension 4 if ten (10) minutes have passed and the psychologist has not joined.

Why am I unable to access my testing page/pre-test materials?

If you have scheduled your appointment outside of normal business hours or over the weekend, your information will not be entered into our system until the following business dayPlease wait 24 hours after scheduling your appointment before attempting to access your testing page. Alternatively, it is possible that there was a typo in the social security number submitted upon registration. Since this number is used for your login, you may need to call and select extension 5 or email us at scheduling@psychologicaldimensions.com to confirm if this information is correct.

Other important information:

All testing is conducted remotely via ProctorPRO©. The subsequent interview with a psychologist is also conducted via Zoom. In office appointments are accommodated only if you have made prior arrangements with your agency for an in-office appointment and/or you do not have access to a computer with a webcam.

Double-check test session/interview times:

Our office is located in the Mountain time zone (MDT/). If you are in a different time zone, our scheduling software will update your confirmation and reminder emails based on the time zone you selected when scheduling the appointment. The appointment time in your confirmation email might not match the time in our testing software system, Psiware©, since our testing software is set up for Mountain Time.  Please double check your confirmation emails to ensure that you are  prepared and present at the correct time.

How to prepare for testing:

Read through your confirmation email thoroughly. If you do not see it, check your spam folder. This email will contain your appointment/testing session details and instructions on accessing your testing page and completing your pre-test materials.

How to prepare for interview:

Ensure that any outstanding questionnaires/materials have been submitted to avoid the possible cancellation of your scheduled interview session. All materials should be completed well before the interview and not the day of, as your psychologist will need time to review them before your appointment. Further instructions can be found in the interview confirmation email you will receive immediately following your testing session.

I do not see my interview date on my testing page:

Your interview date will not appear on your testing page under the drop-down menu. Instead, you will access your ZOOM interview session by selecting the same date as your original testing session.

Most common mistakes/errors (and how to avoid them)

Not completing pre-test materials in advance of your testing session:

The pre-test materials are made available to everyone within 24 hours after registration so they can be completed at your convenience to reduce the time spent on your supervised Zoom testing session. The LHQ and PHQ questionnaires, specifically, cannot be completed during the testing session. If they have not been completed in advance, you may be required to reschedule your testing, your agency will be informed about your lack of compliance with instructions, and you will not be able to complete your interview until they are submitted.

Incomplete Job History on questionnaire:

If you have not included your entire employment history from high school to present day on your Life History Questionnaire (LHQ) or Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ), you will be prompted to do so before you will be able to schedule your interview with a psychologist.  In such cases, your agency may also be informed of your failure to comply with instructions.

Missing or incorrect info on pre-test materials:

The pre-test materials you are required to complete contain prompts for inputting your social security number (or last 4 digits), the name of the agency to which you are applying, and the position for which you have applied. DO NOT rush through these sections, as any errors will need to be corrected, which may delay your interview and, thus, your entire process with the agency.
